For my mom's birthday we went to eat at The Fort. The outside of the restaurant looked very old and western. There was a big open area in the back of the restaurant with a campfire outside. The food at the restaurant was reminiscent of what they served in the 1830s. The reason my mom wanted to go there is to have a true Colorado experience and try out some Rocky Mountain Oysters or so called, cow balls. My dad got into defense mode and started acting like a scaredy cat before we even left the apartment. I thought the cow balls were disgusting. It (notice i said it, not they) was so chewy and tasted like liver. Every time my parents would say the name of it I would start gagging on it. For the entree, my dad and I shared buffalo prime rib. I thought it was good but I liked what my mom ordered better which was buffalo rib eye. Surprisingly, it was less gamey than regular steak. Towards the end of the dinner, they asked us if we wanted a picture with buffalo hats on and so we did. When my dad got his phone back and started looking at the pictures, he saw that mom had her eyes closed in one photo. I don't know why she does that but I do know that she despises having to take pictures for sure. In fact, she really doesn't like being the center of attention at all. If you notice in my blogs, she's always the one taking the pictures. She's the one that helps me a lot with my blog, she likes to work behind the scenes. Anyway, my mom is the best cook, has a weird sense of humor and she dresses me nicely so I don't look like a dork and she helps me do pretty much EVERYTHING every day and I love her.
My name is Cameron Broyles, I'm 16 years old and I started my blog 5 years ago when I was 11. I have paraplegic cerebral palsy and cannot communicate in a traditional fashion. I am home-schooled now but I used to go to main stream public school. My love of exploring first began with going on field trips to learn about history. I play power soccer and it's become my sport of choice! I am originally from Texas but now I live in Colorado and LOVE it! I love to travel and explore but the majority of times it is much more difficult than the average person. I want this blog to not only be my mouthpiece for my friends and family but also give some ideas and maybe light a spark for other people with disabilities to get out and explore life! I was first coerced into starting a blog from my mom and dad and I have to admit that sometimes it's not my favorite thing to do but what I love most about having a blog for these past 5 years is that it's a daily reminder of all my blessings from God and how grateful and thankful I am for everything I have in my life.
